September 18, 2025 to September 20, 2025
The Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL) and the LUMS Learning Institute (LLI), in partnership with the Directorate of Legal Education and the Pakistan Bar Council, inaugurate the fourth training workshop on “Designing and Teaching Effective Law Courses,” bringing together legal educators from across Pakistan for three days of dialogue and learning.
Funded by the Law & Justice Commission of Pakistan, this initiative responds to a longstanding gap in the country’s legal education system, where instruction has traditionally been limited to the study of statutes. The lack of comprehensive treatises and accessible casebooks has often compelled faculty to compile course materials independently, leaving less time for the equally important task of teaching.
By convening educators from across the country, the workshop creates space to exchange ideas, strengthen pedagogy, and reimagine how law is taught in Pakistan. As the Supreme Court of Pakistan observed in Constitution Petition No. 134 of 2012: “Provision of good quality legal education is inextricably linked with dispensation of justice that the Bar is responsible for ensuring.”
Through sessions on course design, case method teaching, and classroom strategies, the workshop highlights how thoughtful planning and innovative teaching methods can lay the foundation for stronger legal education and the cultivation of analytical minds.
We look forward to an engaging and impactful three days of learning and collaboration!
