LUMS Ranked as Top University in Pakistan for Business and Management Studies
The Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) at LUMS continues to establish its mark as Pakistan’s top business school. The recently announced ‘QS World University Rankings 2021 by Subject’ rank LUMS as number one in Pakistan, and in the top 200 globally, for Business and Management Studies. This is a significant improvement from last year, where LUMS was placed in the top 250.
In addition to this, LUMS has also been ranked within the top 250 universities around the world in the Accounting and Finance subject area. The University has the added distinction of being the only institution in Pakistan to be ranked in this category.
“This is a moment of great pride for faculty at SDSB, and our staff, students and alumni. This ranking is a milestone for SDSB’s overall academic excellence and one of many indicators that is a testament to the School’s longstanding history of management leadership in Pakistan and beyond,” shared Dr. Arshad Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, LUMS.
The QS World University Rankings by Subject ranks the world’s top universities in individual subject areas, covering 51 subjects. The rankings aim to help prospective students identify the world’s leading schools in their chosen field.
Dr. Alnoor Bhimani, Honorary Dean, SDSB, shares, “It is gratifying to see SDSB’s higher rank this year in the QS World University Rankings which reflect the School’s aim to develop ideas and people for the betterment of business and society. The new programmes launched this past year, as well as the faculty’s research productivity, and our blended learning approaches are part of what enables SDSB to enhance its positive impact. This is a continuous path of innovation in business education we pursue to prioritise Pakistan’s and the region’s needs.”
