The workshop will bring together scholars, experts and activists to discuss water and climate challenges in South Asia. The exhibit includes Dr. Anthony Acciavatti's 'Groundwater Earth' which will take you on a visual journey exploring the largest distribution of freshwater on Earth, combining over a decade of fieldwork in the Americas and Asia with archival research from three continents and vast data collected via remote sensing satellites. Adding a visual narrative, the short film 'River Ravi' will highlight the environmental and social challenges faced by one of Pakistan's major rivers. Given our current fascination and critique of Ravi’s riverfront development, it's an ideal time to discuss the future of our rivers and water bodies.
Exploring interconnected themes of the origins of unequal water distribution, the role of water in economic growth, and the resilience required for climate migration, the workshop will culminate with discussions on the future of water in a transformative agenda, weaving together insights from all sessions to envision innovative and equitable solutions for South Asia's water challenges.
